Mummieslust: robot garden

Meet the Keurig of gardening.  Click and Grow is a company that promises gardening success for even those with the “un-greenest” of thumbs. As much as I love the idea of growing my own fruits and veggies, remembering to water my wannabe garden is a habit I can’t seem to nip in the bud (no pun intended).

While most of the veggies I tried to grow over the summer didn’t make it to the table. I’m sure that Click and Grow is the answer to robot prayers. Originally launched via Kickstarter, the Smart Herb Garden ($99.95) by Click & Grow promises healthy plants as long as you provide the water and power. The device plugs into the wall and has a built-in LED grow light and water tank. This water tank only needs to be refilled every 3 – 6 (yahoo!). Even more impressively, their soil is made with a “nano-tech growth medium” and says that it will give the plants the right amount of water, oxygen, and nutrients at all times.

Click and Grow’s newest product though is a complete smart farm built into an IKEA kitchen counter. The $299 smart farm system comes with two racks that hold 30 plants each, for a total of 60 vegetables.

I’m not sure which one I should start with, but I will definitely be introducing my home to the Click and Grow.

See this baby in action here.
