I Spy Montreal’s Winter Carnival Roundup
0

Hello Montreal parents! Does anyone else out there suffer from Seasonal Parenting Disorder?

Signs and symptoms of SPD may include:

*Lower back spasms due to daily snow pant struggles

*Headaches due to debates with toddlers about the virtues of mittens vs. gloves

*More headaches due to debates with older children about how they could have lost their neck warmer/gloves/hat/snow pants AGAIN

*Hourly hand-washing due to almost constant fear that you will catch one of your children’s incessant colds

*Frequent thoughts of booking a trip to somewhere warm, where the drinks have umbrellas in them

Yes, getting through winter with young children is tough, but at least we’re all in it together, right? And a great way to get out and (pretend to) celebrate subzero temperatures is at one of Montreal’s many winter carnivals.

Sure, you’ve probably heard about La Fête des Neiges, which starts this weekend at Parc Jean Drapeau, but there are many other great carnivals happening in around Montreal, with activities including ice sculpting, dog sledding, inflatables, outdoor barbecues and hot chocolate.
