Happy New Year!
I would like to take this opportunity to share a little story that made me think about the small stuff . I attended my child's Christmas concert in December, and the director mentioned how we, as parents have such busy agendas and we tend to want to make our kids over-achievers, leaving little room for "real quality time". I, for one, am guilty of this...and as the director was speaking, I felt as though she was directing her speach to me....I keep my Kids extremely BUSY. They attend hockey, music, swimming and gym classes every week....that's quite a hectic schedule for a pre-schooler! I'm realizing it even more as I am writing down all of their activities (and my 5-month old is thankfully limited to eating and sleeping for the most part).
Given my overwhelming schedule, including work commitments (meetings, conference calls), and being what I like to call the "Chief Enhancement Officer" of my home (someone has to do the groceries!), and squeezing in a playdate when possible, when is that "real quality time" supposed to happen?
And so, over the Holidays, taking advantage of the break from the activities, I took the time to snuggle with my precious gems. We kicked back, enjoyed pajama days, made smores, and played games. It was the most rewarding feeling! I very quickly realized the importance of both restoring balance in my life and having consistent connectedness with my kids (I don't just want to be known as the family chauffeur!) So for my New Years Resolution, I have decided to focus on Real quality time. What's yours?

4. NEW Moms and Tots Class in TMR!!! Académie Prescolaire Mont Royal. Mama Dances brings mothers (parents/guardians) and their babies. Courses begin Friday, January 22 at 10.30 am. Music, Mommy & Me. We will also be offering a mom & tots music class for children 24 months to 4 yrs. Courses begin, Friday, January 22 from 1 to 2.

4.WOW! A music class with Jennifer Gasoi! My kids love her.
She is teaching an 8 week mom/baby music class in Westmount starting on Wednesday January 13th. Here are the details:
Day: Wednesdays Dates: January 13th- March 5th, 2010 Times: 10-10:45 (suggested age is 6 months-18 months) 11-11:45 (suggested age is 19 months - 4 years)
